 he even had u hanged!as for the pic, i find it okay. okay as in neutral. there is something about it but ...  i dunno.also, the copyright thing ... distracting

i think that you did a good job on blurring the bg and sharpening the subject. the contrast is rather neat maybe even a little excessive, unfortunately, the hanging stone, rope, texture, or colours really doesn't do it for me.
but the same technic can be iterated onto other subjects, and undoubtedly, you will find better subjects  like your signature |
