Some nice shots for a newbie (I'm a newbie too ) But really suggest you using a tripod. All your shots would've been much improved if a tripod was used

i went for my first macro shoot last sat as well and realise it's not easy to use a tripod always. depending on where the subject is and how mobile it is, sometimes a handheld shot can get closer but focus would be compromised. using a tripod is still the best given a suitably placed subject.

great stuff anyway!

Thanks for your compliments... Ya, I have a tripod as well as a monopod. Hmm for sure need to put them in action liao.

ya... thats what I think lugging along a tripod = no joke.. And I got myself a new Slik propod 600...but not used to it and don't know how to proper hold and stablize with monopod...

any tips on monopod?
