Default Dempsey Road Outing 23/01/2005

In case anyone missed this post in the InfraRed Thread 2.

Here are some pics of the latest outing of the IR group at Dempsey Road on 23/01/2005.

The group started off at about 9.15am from Dempsey Road, walked all the way in and exited at Tanglin Road. Stopped for lunch at Tanglin Mall, then continued to SBG. Ending the shoot at about 3.00pm.

Many of us are experimenting with various filters, Hoya R72, Edmund Longpass, Cokin P007, exposed film and stacking different filters for different effects. It seems like it's limitless on how you can shoot IR.

Interested in IR Photography, film or digital? Come join us in our next shoot, we'll be posting the date/time in this forum. The most experienced Film IR shooter is IRman, he's MIA on some personal matters at the moment. He'll be returning soon, you can post Film IR queries to him.

Default IR Waterfall

Hi teerex,

Those waterfall shots are great

I guess that you used the kit lens ?

Shame that the leaves in pic 2 are a bit blown out. Not much choice ? to bring up the rest ?

Cheers

Ya Pablo, shot with the kit lens. As you said, no choice, to bring up the rest the foreground leaves are blown.
Thanks.

tecnical discussion:

ok: I'm showing another pix taken, did some different post processing, seems like it lends itself nicely to sepia/monochrome... rather than colored ir.

at least (20d + cokin). anyway will test the elp combos tmr morning.

loupgarou,

Strange that your pix come out with different tones rather than white in foliage as you wanted. Could it be your CWB?

Thanks Sinky. What size R72 do you need?

I think stop giving critiques on those few IR shots I posted as they are in the wrong forum.

Mods please move to appropriate forum if you deem neccessary. Thanks.

hi there,

new to IR.. just wondering, where can you get IR long pass or similar material? Looking for alternative to IR filters... a wee bit too costly for me.

It fits the 50mm f/1.8 perfectly. I was using it on my 35-70 f/3.3.
Let me know if you want to borrow it, or maybe you want to make me an unresistable offer?
