Default Dry box hudmidity

Any advice on what is the hudmidity I should maintain in my electric dry box? I kept my equipment in a 35%-40% hudimity dry box. recently was told keeping them at too low a hudmity could damage the equipment. So any good advice?

Notice on some of my friends equipment the rubber grib turn whiteish... is it the hudmidity in his dry box is too low?

I have read somewhere that when the humidity level is too high, it may dry the lubricants in the mechanism of our lenses.

Keeping humidity level between 40% and 50% should be fine.
