    1. in what area is critique to be sought?

    Composition, Colors and Technique with specific to Portrait

    2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
    Capturing the boy with focus on his eyes and his relations to the caretaker.

    3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
    Taken indoor. Exif data
    Camera: NIKON D2X
    Focal Length: 40mm
    Aperture: f/3.3
    ISO: 800
    Shutter Speed: 1/80

    4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
    It is my first few attempts on portrait shot. I think it could be better, but need some comments on how to improve.

    yup the eyes are sharp, and they're big too! hehe...

    just that he looks like he is going to cry
    depending on your theme, for example if you're portraying a sad child, it can work, however the adult beside is smiling
    or else have to wait till both of them are smiling

    good portrait shot. would prefer greater contrast and crispness to the photo.
    you can buy better gear but you can't buy a better eye

    Yes a lot of times the story behind a photo makes it special to the photographer, and if this is the case then it is special! No matter what others say
