Thick rubbery smell on camera & lens grip, pls advice...

Does ur camera and lens focus/zoom grip give out rubbery smell when u keep them in ur bag for too long?

Coz min do have this pbm everytime i carry it in my Photorunner bag. After holding the camera & lens for a while, the smell will stick on to my hand also...

Anyone experience this? Inside my bag I put a few packs of silica gel.

Is it because too humid or too dry tat causes the rubber to become smelly?

there is once i set my drybox too dry den the rubber felt damn sticky... might be u put under the sun for too long

Rubber became sticky?

As far as I remember, I rarely expose it to the sun...

So it might be the case of being too dry? Maybe I put too many packs of silica gel? Cause this won't happen if i keep in my dry box...

I thought it smells nice, nice and new.
Do you have sweaty hands? Maybe the sweat is reacting with the lens to make silly smells.

Nope, no sweaty palms.

The smell of new isn't like this. This is like the rubber band kinda rubbery smell...Not exactly a pleasing smell...

Anyway I'll try to take out the silica gel pack 1st...
