Hi Fuji users,
would like to have your comments on comparing the 2 pano cameras. Anyone ever used the GX617 before? How is its construction like compared to the Linhof? Which is more solid build? Thanks -MB |

Both of the above have no shift, have you considered 'the Gilde' 6x6-6x17 cameras? It has shift and tilt, useful in landscapes.......and filmformat is flexible
http://www.gilde-kamera.de/de/4771.html Price is high though........but the others too |

Hi Hongsien. Thanks for the recommendation. This cam clearly looks sturdy. And price is eye popping too.. guess for the extra movements, it might make better sense to get this instead of the linhof? hmmm...

If you don't need shift, go for the lower (not low) priced Fuji, no need to pay extra for the Linhof that is basicaly the same camera. Fuji is as good, and rugged as well...why need them to be rugged? Are you not going to carry them in a bag?

Fuji has ceased production of all the larger than 6x8 format cameras (ans their 670 camera)! So, no GW 670 II, no GSW III 690, no GX 617 :-(
BTW: In china there are fine copies of the 6x17 Linhof cameras!! As well of 6x9, 6x12 cameras, 4x5 handhelds with shift (Ron camera has one in his shop)And alot cheaper! Hong Sien |
