Default Long legs shots

I've came to know that, using a wide lens, I can create a portrait shot of models with long legs/hands.

But I tried using 18mm on my D70. I can't get it.

How do you guys do it?

Thanks

18mm should be enough. Did you shoot from the floor? Shooting from a low altitude will enhance the distortion effect.

I was kneeling on the floor while I told the model to stand on a 0.5m plateform. Yet I can't get it ley...weird.

I was then <0.5m away then.
