Tried to clean my Canon 20D Cmos yesterday and found that the fines dust were really stubborn. No matter how I blown it remained there. I suspect that this could be due to the built up static charge on the filter or the camera body which attract those fine dusts. So the first thing is to drain off the static charge in order to have a proper cleaning.
Understand why canon recommend to use the DC power supply for Cmos cleaning as it provides earthing point. After getting quote from CP on the power supply and give up hope to buy the over priced DC power supply. Finally DIY the following adaptor to drain off the static charge. Material used:- 1.0 RCA from unwanted ear phone to plug into the 20D Video Output to drain off internal static charge. Ah..take note.. use only one wire of the RCA either + or - and don't joint both together to avoid short circuit. 2.0 Small bolt which mount on the tripod mount to drain off static charge from the 20D external body. 3.0 All the above wires were finally soldered together and connect to the earthing Pin of 13A socket. Take out the Live and Neutral Pins as they are useless. After that connect the 13A single pin socket to any wall power supply socket and start the cleaning work. WOW!! the effect was fantastic! I could see such an improvement on my cleaning... Just to share it with others and please take note, I am not liable to any damage to your expensive camera by following my method..
