The first statement is so, so true!

And the second sentence, he was ragging on me? I thought he was insinuating I'm some sort of salesman or majority shareholder of Nikon! LOL!

I got thick skin....looks like I need it around this forum!

Nope. That's just an out of focus picture. The bokeh gods are crying.

No. Don't misunderstand out of focus or off focus blur to bokeh. Sorry to say, saw some of the photo you take... they are soft, especially the food pic, very very off focus and blur.

Plus in photography circle, we also call blur - blur. Bokeh was derived from a Japanese word for 'Blur' and thats it. So in plain english, it is still 'blur'.

And like I have mentioned earlier, please read on DOF, aperture, shutter speed... and I think you can add ISO into your reading. And think about them for a while, then apply them to your shooting, you might be pleasantly and more boomingly surprise of how much better you can get for your shots... and then, you can go booming at everyone out there.

I am not a photographer, just someone who happened to have a couple of cameras.

Yup, but in a photography sense it refers to the quality of the blur and how it enhances the subject. Or, if it's "bad bokeh", how it distracts from the subject.
