Thread: Any DVDs recommendation?

    Arrow Any DVDs recommendation?

    Hey Everyone,
I need some comments from all fellow CSnappers.

I just realized a few days ago that my holidays for this year's Chinese New Year (CNY) has been cancelled due to the passing of my grandfather during last August. In another words, my family is not allowed to have any kinds of major festivities celebration for one year, and that includes decorations inside the house as we are still considered mourning for my grandfather.

So I am going to be stuck at home for 5 days. I need some entertainment.

My sister and I are planning to go on a DVD shopping spree - buying some DVDs so we can entertain ourselves throughout CNY.

Since my parents and my sister prefers mainstream (Hollywood) movies, we are planning to get some of those. The prefered genre are usually horror, thriller or suspense. However, they also welcome with an occasional dose of comedy films. They like those movies with chock-full of action and less talking.

I already have certain titles in mind (and some in my collection) but I will really appreciate if any fellow CSnappers can recommend other titles as well?

    Regards,
    -Michelle-

    5 days is a luxury.

Go for trilogies - Matrix, LOTR, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Godfather.

Avoid James Bond movies - very boring.

Also, why not stick to VCD's and save some money.

Hmm? U mean the older series?

I thought the newer ones starring Pierce Brosnan are quite nice. Too bad Mr Brosnan wun be James Bond anymore...

Get the Band of Brothers DVD version. Even if you have watched it on Ch. 5 before...it's still worth watching a second time...and with better sound effects too.
