Default American style- Red and blue

Now this is the biggest challenge with crimson in direct afternoon sunlight that I have ever experienced thus far. I was shooting a pacific swallow when this fello just popped up 4m away. The -1 eV compensation was barely sufficient to protect the Red channel, or so I thought it was clipped. Luckily, photoshop gave me a bigger allowance and much more details in the crimson region than the DPP software.

So here u are, a crimson on a different perch. Pardon some noise in the BG. Need to keep the storage space down.

This shot is nice, just that its tail is abit too blur.
What kind of metering and settings did you use for shooting him? Thanks

Yap, couldn't freeze the subject cause I was using 1/160s, F8.0, ISO 800, -1eV, Flash fired at -1eV on tripod. Evaluative. Shot at point blank.
