Thread: Auntie picks fight with girl despite being given Reserved Seat

Back to original thread intention, my personal stand is if you are a graceful citizen and knows to give up your seat to those in need more than you, you don't have to be in any reserved seats to exercise such a behavior.

In my opinion, the reserved seat is only for those that doesn't understand what it means on whole. While it is obvious why the reserved seats are near any entrance, I believe the notion extends further than that. Some people need a sign to tell you what to do, then well you know what it tells you about yourself. Some people can have self initiative, that is a good thing.

From the perspective of a government, they can only encourage you to do so via notice placed, but do you really need someone to tell you that or you just need someone to faint or fall right in front of you then you will understand that why giving up your seats at appropriate times is important.

As such, I don't think reserved seats should be left empty. It is silly not to fully utilize the resources. Why is there an empty seats when the cabin is full of people standing? Doesn't make sense. Hence it only make sense to give up your seat whether it is reserved or not, to those in more need than you.

the reserved seats are only there to remind us that there are people around that need it more than we do.

and it's also to remind us that no matter where we sit (reserved seat or normal seat), we have a moral duty to give it up to those who need it more.

No young girl or young woman would want to sit there, for fear of being labelled an old "auntie".
Real aunties also don't want to sit there because they insist they are still young.

I think we singaporean are just not graceful enough if you are tired, old, with a painful leg, you could always ask politely for the seat, and I believe anybody with a sound mind will certainly give up their seat.

So if you are ask by an elderly could you let me sit? be it you are on a priorty seat or not, will you give up your seat.

If an elderly person asks me to give up my seat on my way to work or on my way home, i just won't do it.

Was wondering how would you do it then.
    1. pretend to sleep
    2. Tell the elder off nicely
    3. Ignore him
    4. Scold him
    5. Others

Just curious if someone were to caught in a situation like that and how will they react

Sure you are. And if you feel you need the seat just ask politely i am sure there will be people who think you need it will give the seat to you.

If you are too young you can always try limping in and ask for a seat politely (just joking)
