![]() ![]() Both shots are taken with a single element +4 macro filter. Well, my advice for those who are interested in getting close up filters/lens, if you want solid pics, go for Nikon's or Canon's or Raynox's double elements lens. These double elements lens are really good for tiny objects. But they're a little more expensive. As for normal single macro filters(cheaper ones), they are not bad for macro pics like watches, coins, BIG insects & BIG bugs,.....etc. They are better than using magnifying glass. And they are very cheap. So if you are really into serious macro, do save up and get the better macro once and for all. But if you are not into macro, then get the single element macro filter just for fun for they can come handy at times! BTW, first shot is resized, brightened and sharpened. Second shot is.......heavily edited, more than Spielberg's special effect! ![]() |

Are you not afraid that during the photoshoot, the spider might jump onto your lens, climb to your hands and give it a good bite!

What is the brand you are using? I'm thinking of selling away my Hoya Close Up filters to get one of this. Cheers John |

Hi Spiderman and John,
I wouldn't mind getting a set of el cheapo Hoya Close-Ups in 72 mm, 67 mm or 62mm. I can easily use a set in any of these sizes. Please do share your lobang if no one else wants it. TIA! CHEERS! ![]() |

I'm using the 72mm Hoya Close Up +3 and +4 but the problem is I'm using the tube adaptor with 62mm and I have a step down 55mm. As such, it is very troublesome to change and put the 62mm to 72mm so that I can use the Close Up. Paid about $90 for both. Cheers John |

IMO, the 2nd pic looks pretty bad, details and sharpness are gone due to overprocessing. Must be too much noise in the original picture?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...56158&tc=photo The cost is only USD19.00(shipped) = about S$32.00, and that's for 10 lenses/filters!!! However, the seller does not have 62mm or 72mm. I have emailed to enquire about 62mm and 72mm macro filters. Here is another link but he did not state the S&H to Sin. I emailed him too. And he might charge cheaper S&H for 2nd item, so if you can get someone else who is also interested in the 62mm set, it will be better.See link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT The cost is a little higher for the 62mm naturally and the above seller is from US. The costs of the set(+1,+2,+4 & macro[+10]) is USD$25.00 B4 shipped = about S$41.00 if you win the bid and most likely you will. I reckon the shipping will be around USD20-30 to Sin. But that's just an estimation and if you can get another one to buy too like I mentioned, he might just charge cheaper for the total. Don't worry, I ahve emailed him and will get back to you once he replies. Anyway, have anyone imported anything from overseas and does the Sin custom fine the goods? Better to check cost just in case you have to pay extra costs. But there is always a way to "cheat in the sense, you can always request the seller to declare the actual costs as low as possible. Or better still, as "GIFTS" or "gifts with no commercail value" or "used items(with a low costs like USD5.00)".....in that way, I am sure the custom will not charge duty taxes. But I have friends who imported accessories for motorbikes which above S$1000 and no tax. I'll get back to you guys and meanwhile I'll search more. Btw, does anyone if there are any shops selling cheap macro filters in Sin? |

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...866336325&rd=1 72mm filters set!!!! +1,+2+,+4 & +8!!! For only USD24.80=about S$41.00 B4 shipped. If you want, try to bid for it. But don't worry if you lost, just to bid too high for it cos you can always find the same items from the seller and then bid again. But to what I see, one can easily walk away with that set at that start bid price. |

Thanks Spiderman. Checking out both and waitin for replay. Anyway since they have 55mm ones, I might just other this and with the step down ring, don't need to pay so much. I was actually thinking of getting the 28 filters set.
Cheers John |

But again let's wait till tomorrow for the seller(akkash_industries) to see what he has for the 62mm or 72mm stuffs. Cos this seller is selling much cheaper(both items and S&H) than the one from US. |
