I wonder how does it fare compared to the original one. I called up EastGear and they mentioned that it is either the Original Panasonic battery (sold as 3rd party) or another company made one. Sounds good but say already like no say
If it is bad like those from AP/SB then I rather get the original ones. Please Advice |

I am thinking if the 3rd party last longer. If it is why not just get it instead.

I would try NOT to get 3rd party batteries. Usually its hit or missed. If it works and last long good. If it falls short you'll end up getting another. That adds up the cost. So a good bargain at the end doesn't seem so good if factor in other cost like time, effort & transport to get another battery. Original batteries almost always works as intended. That saves you the hassle. Then again these, some may want to gamble on it ....

I know of the pros and cons of using 3rd party batteries. I have used EastGear's compatible battery for G5 (same used for 10D, 300D, 20D etc etc) and it worked great and longer than the original. Now I just need someone who actually bought the 3rd party battery and give a feedback. Those who used the 3rd party batteries for FZ20 is also welcome to comment

Last for as long if not longer than original batt. The other ones I got from AP at Funan, the brand is "Digital". That one really cannot make it. Shoot a while, start to go flat, dissappointing.

OK, thanks for the reply all. I think I go down to EastGear later in the afternoon to get the battery. Economy is not good so give a shot. Anyway got 1 year warranty and FX2 is a fun camera, not a die die must stay with me in case (touch wood) it went crazy with the battery

so which OEM battery do you think is the best for FX2/7 camera?
One of the sales rep in Peninsula tried to psycho me to buy a 'Digital' brand OEM made in Japan 1100mAh for $49 which i read somewhere is a lousy battery brand. |

The batt span is shorter than the original or Eastgear I have, and I got my "Digital" battery from AP Funan at $25/-. Guess the guy at Peninsula was out to ![]()

Hows the battery span of the eastgear battery compared to the original?
Is it almost as lasting compared to the original after say, a couple of months? |
