Default Diving cum Wreck photography

Helping a friend spread this event;
whoever is interested.. hope i am not violating any rules...

--------------------------------

Historical Wrecks Conservation Expedition on board the MV Grace

March 4 - 6

8 Dives & your Research Diver Certification - join local marine biologists assessing local wreck ecosystems

Cost: S$550

We have a project to conduct an environmental audit of 2 wreck sites in
25-30 meters of water about 2 hours away from Tioman. The project is to
determine all of the species resident in the wreck ecosystem. The wrecks
are 60 + year old wrecks about 20 miles WNW of Tioman. They are rarely
visited by divers or fishermen because they are not found on any charts.

The results of the audit will be published in Scuba Diver Australasia
Magazine and discussed at Celebrate The Sea 2005. The diving will hopefully
be over the first weekend of March (4-6)

We need lots of divers especially those that are good with camera and
video to help with the research. Penetration Divers will be giving everybody who participates the SDI 'Research Diver' Certification at no extra cost.

These wreck sites are very interesting because they have so many of the large reef fish and sharks that can no longer be seen at Tioman and Aur.
We want to get them protected.

Is there a certain expertise limit (Advance/Rescue/DM onwards) for taking part in it?? and must we have actual knowledge of U/W photography?

Hi Goondoo,
I have no issues with it NOT being here. It is just an event;
i will let the moderators decide; where's the best place.

Hirito, i think the best way to answer your questions, drop an email to the contact names in the original post.

cheers

Yes Goondoo is right,it is profitable; and it *shouldn't* be here. However after discussing it with the panel of Mederators and Admins, we've decided to let it slide as it has some useful information.

It is the commercial "advertising" part that we are worried about.

Thus with effect, any further enquiries will have to be directed to the contacts on the post.

This thread will now be closed.

Cheers
