Default Night Scenery/Long Exposure on FX7/FX2 Question

Hi, reading up on the manual of this camera, but I have no idea how the camera judge on the length of the exposure. Will the camera open up the aperture, increase the shutter speed and if still not bright enough up the ISO (the ISO cannot be set here...) I do not have this camera but I just like to know more before I purchase.

ok, my guess from several tries, ISO 100 if auto, then keep aperture as wide as possible, if can afford to stop down, it will try to, mainly to get the correct exposure only.

I think I found my answer from DCresource:

Quote:
The only way to take really long exposures like this one (4 secs) is to use the Night Scenery mode. This allows for exposures as long as 8 seconds. In the regular shooting mode, the camera will not go any slower than 1 second, which isn't enough for this photo. In Night Scenery mode, the ISO is locked at 100, so noise levels are a bit higher than they would be at ISO 80.

So it would be Locked ISO 100, Max Aperture (depends on focu length) and followed by the exposure time as and when it needs to be longer than what is needed up to 8 seconds.
