C'mon, a short search in the relevant places will get you the answer you need :
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilms5000/page4.asp Here you will see what the connector looks like, ie. a mini-USB. You can get a USB->mini-USB cable (standard) from just about any shop that sells electronics, including places like Courts, Harvey Norman, etc. Should be $10 or even less (depending on length). Bring your camera along just to make sure that the connector fits. There are 2 types of mini-USB connectors, as far as I know ... this is the larger one, the other one is smaller and is rectangular-shaped. Man, if you're "screwed" over $50, what about people who lose all their possessions through natural calamities ? You gotta get the right perspective. BTW, I also concur with yanyewkay ... a card reader is a lot faster and more convenient. |

Thanks for the info.
I really appreciate it. fine, perhaps i am not as screwed as i think i am. but I was anxious about it. and screwed isnt a word too strong to use right? $50 may not mean alot to you. But it does mean alot to me. I need to work for it and as a student it isnt as easy. So in my opinion, i am "screwed". In anycase I need to upload my stuff. Just shot an event. |

yah.. from the looks of the pic given by ericp it is a usb mini-port. these cables are relatively cheap at sim lim square. shouldn't cost more than $10.
alternatively, you can buy a card read (i'm not a card reader salesman btw) and the card reader will have the same cable supplied!

looks like you need a USB-A(4pin,male) to Mini-USB(5pin,male).
i would prefer to use a card read (approx $20) as this circumvents any possibility of power feedback issues (not use how big of an issue this is though). just to add to yanyewkay's comment - unfortunately, not all card readers come with USB cable, and not all of them comes with the one specified above. the one i bought (8-in-1) happens to come with this cable... "available at all good camera shops"!! hahaha!! ![]() |
