Anyway, I do really give a Thumbs up for those helped out in this event. Salute!!!

Thanks again for the consideration. Laslty, I dont think you would want to let your photos taken (when you are trying to help the victims) and ended up having them being discussed in some "bua yah" forums....etc....
I am not sorry if you take offence in the photos, but let me clarify, that person was a willing party to let us shoot and lot of other tourist and passerbys with cameras were also shooting....

Yes, we are a serious lot doing serious volunteer work for charity, most of our volunteers are from CS, do u think we are doing all this just for FUN? core volunteers meet at 6.30 am every sat & sun till the pack up time about 9.30pm, plus loading back everything till 11pm on Sundays (not to mention meetings on weedays) and also other volunteers who spent countless hours helping there. We had sacrificed our time away from family and friends to help raise funds for the victims and believe we might hit the 10K mark after the last weekend. Why don't you put urself in our shoes?

I think the pics were proper, fully dressed nothing exposed..they were not for "bua ya" intentions at all, otherwise it might already be in those other forums, but more of lifting spirits and morale boosting....of course we must show that there is a little "fun" in volunteering work, again something you might not know unless you were in our shoes...

    Eh...here's the menu:

    Appetizer:
    Thai Style "Charred" Chicken Feet

    Main Course:
    Steamed Red Lobster with Butter
    Double Boiled Racoon

    Dessert:
"Merlion Puke" seasoned (ie Salted) Crackers

After dinner, Poohbear will also treat us to a SPA session for a "sea-salt" facial/body scrub.

Thats why I have already saluted you guys in my earlier post and definetly, it is an honourable thing to do, from my bottom of my heart. Even if you didnt mentioned the time and hardwork you have spend, from the group photos and the sun burned skins...its obvious enough.

However, the sudden positing of such beautiful lady in this post might caused misleading issues like this. Hope you understand too.

It might end up in other forums, who knows? Else there wont be a word called leeching. I guess boosting of morales is required but hopefully not on other's account.

Once again, I am not imposting any flames here but just a point to note which had been noted. Thanks again for the time and effort each and everyone had put in and that it has been a on going and successful event organised by many people with leadership qualities...

Why don't we start a tread in the other forum dedicated to the shots taken at the Photo Aid for everyone to post and mention in this tread that there are new photos in this tread.

Although I do not object to the photos here, I think that ambient2004 might have a point. Lets do it.

Good idea!!! It will be a good way for all of us to share what we have shot at Merlion Park as well as not to OT too much here. Any suggestion as to where we should post it?

Yes please!!! this tread is to help us look for volunteers ( big thank you to ClubSnap admin for making this a sticky thread ) and it will help to let them see how and where we operate.

As for events coverage, it will be good if we can give the sponsors, as a small gift, some photos to show how they've help us in this donation drive. For those who have vlounteed their time, effort or in any other way, it will also be a good reminder of the event.

I have already spoken to hotspots about the "gift" to the sponsors.
I suggest a print of the merlion with text saying

"Thank you for supporting the Photo Aid Charity drive, without your generous sponsorship this would not be possible."

Anyway I leave it up to hotspots, if he needs more input, we can discuss offline.

Default Let's Get Down To Business

OK guys/gals, we need to get down to bussiness now. We have more work to do as weekend 3 is our last push towards the finish line of this donation drive.

We need more volunteers for this weekend. Weekend 2 on Sunday, we were working on min. manpower as some of us have other engagement and also some of us need a rest before we "burnt out". I suspect that some volunteers did not turn out because of the statement by Red Cross that they have stopped all donation drive. Below please find some points that we wish to clarify.

    1) We are sending all the donations to Salvation Army and NOT Red Cross or
    any other org.

    2) Salvation Army is not related to Red Cross in any way.

    3) The statement by Red Cross to stop donation drive is ONLY for Red Cross.
Salvation Army's donation drive is NOT affected in any way by Red Cross's
    statement.

    4) The statement on Salvation Army's website "We are collecting donations in
kind but not specifically for the Tsunami Disaster" means, in short, they
are still willing to collect doantions in kind ( some org. will only take money
and/or med. supplies ) but will only sent those suitable and needed by the
victims over and the rest they will give to the needy in Singapore. That's
why they said "not specifically for the Tsunami Disaster".

I hope that I've answers some nagging questions that you may have and that we've clear some of the air.
The beat way to gauge for yourself to see if we're for real, is to see for yourself. Sulhan, one of our mod. here have sponsored our lunch and dinner for weekend 1. He's now providing us with discounted lunch and dinner. He's been there and have help us as one of our best promoter on site. If we're not serious about this whole donation drive, I'm sure he would have seen it and not con't to help us.

Those who want to help please PM poohbear or call him at 96992395 as he's planing the manpower. You can also just drop by the Merlion Park and look for Poohbear, Hotspots or myself yqt or just go to the tentage and said that you are here to help. We'll find you some way which you can help.

For those who are reading this for the first time, please refer to post #1 for info on what PhotoAid is about and also info on this donation drive.

To all who have help us in one way or another, no matter big or small, Thank You!!! None of us would be able to do this without your help. THANK YOU.

Sorry my friend, I wanted to be the first to tell you but did not know when you're coming back. At around 9am on Sunday, a gust of very strong wind blow everything up and your "apple" fell down flat .But I assure you that everything is fine and you should not be able to tell if it happened at all ( there's one or two small scratch on the frame ).
I'm very sorry that it happen and I understand if you want to kill me but please wait till after the donation drive OK?

    hi everyone
great work with the project so far. everyone really put their hearts into this.

one last word on the issue ambient2004 brought up. i know this has been discussed to death and the issue should close. but i suggest that a footnote be placed in that particular post with the photo to clearly state that the lady in the photo is not one of the "donatees".

reason being this forum, indeed this thread probably has some exposure perhaps in the international arena. (tourists may go back and mention this?)
and without any disclaimer or comments, some may wrongly perceive that participtants get their photo put up for all to see.

it's just to set the record straight and ensure that all the good work done so far remains just that.
