prefer the 2nd one.

it sort of blends the fish and the coral better. the first one more cramped feeling

2nd one but if given a choice, would prefer to see a landscape orientation one. would bring out the stream of silver fishes as an arc

Agree with sniperD... definitely the 2nd one. 1st one doesn't bring out the "arc" of silvery fish.

Second picture, the circle is more complete in the second picture. In the first it is just an arc. I also agree with SniperD in that it would look better in landscape orientation.

1st one a bit more unique. more 'artistic'. 2nd one is a normal yet will executed shot.
1st one u see more of the coral (it's at the thirds position) YET there is a 'framing' of the silver fish. BUT i'd rather see a BIT more space at the top... (of the 1st) generally what they said is true.. a bit too tight, the crop.

2nd one has a bit of its own draw.. but the crop looks a bit off to me. a bit too much space at the top and left. but but... 2nd one also nice.
i think i choose 2nd one after looking and comparing the two (but first instincts chose 1st)

tell us which one u like!!! and why.

Hi there Ron. Thanks for the comment. I only took 2 shots at this reef scene. I was about to try a landscape one, but a Giant trevally was feeding on them and the the fish never resume their position anymore. Sigh.. wrong perspective.... will try again next time.

Don't OT

The INON UWL-100 has a bit of perspective distortion when the subject is quite close. I was very near to the minimum focussing distance. My 7 Skies trip photo of Keith had the same effect. The coral scene also played a part.

Wow D thanks for all the comments.

I actually like the first shot more, was trying something new, instead of my get low get close shoot up sequence. I was actually shooting dowards.

Guess i liked it due to the fact that it was harder for the first shot, there was a coral block underneath me, Strobe placement was a challenge as well, since the fish was silvery and would fool the in-camera TTL system, i also had to "think" about FEC. For the second it is the normal blue water shoot up reef scene. I had to reverse-fin against current for the second one.
