alternatively, along vaguely similar lines to the eye the city project, you could have photographs depicting a day in the life of singapore, shot near MRT stations. make it such that each MRT station is at least partially visible in the photograph, say in the background, reflected in a puddle/mirror etc. if you don't have enuf photogs, those who are available will have to cover more stations. i suggest photogs shooting that day in three teams, to cover the three MRT lines. should be enuf time to shoot all 64 MRT stations in one day.

It dosen't need STB approve in fact STB only happy you do it. It save some manhours on their part. I have friends whom share idea with them and only to find later some fat cat in STB steal their idea and cut them off the project. Very sad story, ending up they dun want to do any project with STB.

they can try to hijack this project from us. If we have the ingredients (hokkein: liao) we won't need to be afriad of them.

Dun include Kallang river beside Kallang Station. It looks horrible. Last time when I walk
passed there, I saw a mattress, a TV tube.

Guys, Thanks for all your suggestions to help.

As for the MRT area assignment thing, there might be some changes to it so dun rush to 'chop' space kinda thing. Everything's kinda sketchy now till CS admins give their final blessings.

Anyway, I've got this 'thing' for weird stuff. If Kallang River is really that horrible as what PhotoDog said, there's a possibility I might include it in for a shoot as well!

True. STB wants something that promotes Singapore. Not anything that will leave tourists a bad impression. An ugly sight of Kallang River might make the tourists think that all rivers in Singapore are like that.

Well, depending on how the theme/story goes on the photobook.

Depending on what the admins want, the book may or may not go to STB eventually. Of cos, I'm sure all of us want it to 'make it' there. But Darren and Larry had mentioned (I think so too. Perhaps my thoughts had gone too wild). Keep it down to guage response. The worst thing about any project is not about having big dreams methinks, but to blow it out of proportion and not being able to deliver.

As I'd said earlier, all these are being done at one's own expenses and the passion for photography.

i think we don't need any special approval if we just start off as a web based project.

This way, everyone can contribute, copyrights goes to photog, everyone is happy. If it gets very successful, it will become the portfolio for future sponsors to look ah

Then after CS admins approve, we can then add in CS name to it.

    Good idea?

There are quite a number of things to consider before even planning to start, but i'll just touch on a few.

I gather that u r trying to get support for your idea. The response seems promising, but bear in mind that promises r free.

From the response, decide whether the idea is going to materialise. CSer are so eager to jump into ideas (Why r u so eager to chop MRT stations at this stage?? so what if nobody wants to take NWxx?).

Maybe get a few guys to do some serious feasibility assessment. Then we talk business.

Maybe can tok more abt it in detail tonite...

Ultimately, the final product may be very, very different from my concept idea. I do have to admit that on 2nd thoughts, it does sound very, very ambitious (the consequence of a non-functioning left brain).

    Thumbs up

Guys. Thank you for all your participation and enthusiasm towards this project. And thanks to Darren for all da tips at SEED juz now! I got a flash of inspiration on the bus juz now which would not only ensure that the project can be terminated at any time if response is bad (I do hope not. But hope to see it thru), but can be kept to a reasonably small size as well as cover at least 70% of the MRT Stations!

I will be posting the action plan real soon, hopefully by this week, den I can meet all those interested next week and can start a trial shoot on the coming long weekend!

Thanks for all your enthusiasm. Darren! Buy u kopi next time.
