Hi guys,
Anyone of you encounter a lock-up when shooting RAW+SHQ suring the write operation? This happened after shooting more than 20 over frames in quick succession after the buffer cleared. Spoilt my initial good impression of the camera. Only remedy was to remove the battery as the switch did not work. Prehaps there is a firmware bug cheers chii Last edited by chii; 3rd January 2005 at 06:52 PM. |

Mind giving more details about your settings? What do you mean by 20 pics in succession? Is this done manually? Also, what type of CF card are you using? I can try to simulate the problem on my set. Thanks

Settings as follows control - manual Iso -100 F-stop 4~5.6 S- 100/125 CF card is a 1Gig Lexar Professional 80X WA series image format - Raw + Shq color space - AdobeRGB Flash : with & without (no compensation) Sorry about the "20 pics in succession", I suppose it made no sense , cos i was rushing off to diner before I posted. Here is what happened. - I shot up till the camera buffer limit (single frame) - waited for the write operation to complete before shooting again immediately. - after repeating the above for a few sets of images, the camera locked up with the write led on & the Lcd & viewfinder displaying nothing. Hope this helps chii Last edited by chii; 4th January 2005 at 10:16 AM. |

sorry for the delay. I could not try it out yet coz my CF card is quite full but I saw the following discussion at dpreview which may be of help. Please note the part about reformatting the Lexar card.

Hi serene, Since I formated the card since that day, there has not been any recurence of the problem. Prehaps it is true u need to "sync" the card to the camera. cheers |

Hello Chii,
Don't have an E300 on hand to be of help. Just glad to hear that the source of the problem could be verified & resolved :-) Cheers, |
