Default Lenses for D70 (Nikon & OEMs)

Hi all,

Thot I can hear some recommendations for lenses for D70. Heard about some softness with the kit lense so wanted to find out what are the options (model, price and availability).

Thanks.

Maybe you can go read the many threads about lenses in the Nikon section. There are lots & lots of Nikon and non-Nikon lenses out there. Guess you have to state your budget & what type of lens you are looking for, before someone is able to help recommend.

Don't know where you heard about the "softness", but mine's sharp as a tack on a bright sunny day. Most of the time I use it in preference to primes.

yups. I've only heard mostly good reviews about the kit lens. Maybe you've confused with the canon kit lens.

Well, I would recommend you to look at the dpreview's forums under nikon SLR lens and also nikonlinks for the reviews of the various nikkor lens. Trying to find a forum for non nikkor but nikon mount lens reviews.. those are all over the web.. not consolidated..

The kit lens is very good! I can echo that. And it give you very good range, from 27mm to 105mm. In fact if you read from Ken Rockwell.com, it's got good review too.
