Used to simply just use the 14mm for my gf3 as the other kit was quite crappy. However, once I got the ep3 and the new 14-42 lens, I rarely use the prime and even less so once i got the voigtlander. Eventually I sold it.

    Hi Guys

I'm using my old Nikon Lens on my GF1. Just get a lens adaptor and go to shooting with out lens mode. You are ready for manual focusing in aperture priority.

    The combinations are limitless.

true that! the "disadvantage" about getting such a prosumer is that you will generally want to build up on your lenses even with an already existing line up for the DSLR.

All m43 mount lenses including those use with a m43 adaptor should work with the GF1 ... is that your question? If not, perhaps you should think of what subject you would like to shoot to narrow down the lens choices? Otherwise like what other poster has pointed out ... the choice and combination is plentiful ...

Perhaps You mean 25mm f1.4 instead?
    Oly OM-D E-M5 (Silver) + 20mm + 25mm + 12-50mm + 45-200mm + 7.5mm fisheye... and a Panny LX3

given my current lens line up on my 5DII, i kinda know my shooting preferences. i'm just seeing whether its justifiable to get a similar lens line up for the GF1. i guess i shouldn't because then it'll defeat the purpose of owning a DSLR or P&S

    Hi,

Maybe it is possible to "combine" these systems. For example, use GF1 for walk about (e.g. size, weight etc.) or the utlra long side (i.e. with a m43 adaptor and the cheapo 50mm F1.8 makes a good 100m, while the 70-200mm could be a good 140-400mm lens on the GF1 etc.).

As the big boys are unwilling to innovate faster and the mirrorless gangs needed time to "catch up" ... owning 2 systems as such appears to make sense since none could deliver the best of both worlds so far i.e. 2 different kind products offering different values.

Is it worth trading in the 14-42mm kit lens for a (2nd hand) X 14-42mm pancake zoom for the compactness?

So far the reviews I've read on the web about the pancake zoom image quality aren't very positive.

For compactness the X14-42 is great but the original 14-45mm is sharper. I have not tried the 14-42mm so cannot comment.

I've tried a Sigma 150-500 I used to have on my G1, of course now it mostly just has the 14mm mounted on it.

I have done just that, and all I can say is that the X14-42 lens is simply great, and sharpness-wise it is as good as, if not better than the older 14-42. Am very pleased (and amazed) with the results. The camera body I used is GF2
