Instead of choosing the SIA Senior Executive Vice President, Lieutenant General Bey Soo Khiang (he was the 3rd Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces) to be the CEO to take over from Chew Choon Seng, Singapore chose a Malaysian youngster Goh Choon Phong who joined only in 1990. It is a disgraceful way to treat our country's former CDF. In other countries, former-CDF is a very big shot. Not to treated so shabbily.

This would never have been tolerated in Japan or even in Malaysia.

er, Goh Choon Phong has been with SIA since 1990, but Bey Soo Khiang only joined SIA in 2000... so Bey Soo Khiang is actually the newcomer in that company, and by about 10 years...

Most suitable person wins... A former CDF might be 'a big shot'... but that doesn't mean he is more suitable for the job. You prefer a country that put all their senior ex-civil servant into position of power without seeing is he/she suitable for the job ??

It depends very much one how one see it. I have been in the work force for donkey years. During these times, I have worked with fellow colleagues from different nationalities. My encounters give me the impression we are very competitive in terms of efforts and time spent.

Many others spent longer hours but non productive. It is their culture that they 'communicate' or socialize more than locals. So, Singaporean must learn how to relax. We are a very obedient bunch of workers that is why we can attract all the investments. If I am rich and want to start a biz, Singapore is a haven.

So, it is good and also bad place.

    So? CDF big F?

We all know how MINDEF promote people. Other country army throw bullets and missiles, then get promoted. Ours is throw paper, can get promoted already.

Every Singaporean is a better attitude, more efficient and productive worker when compared to FTs?

Not so sure it can hold ground. I certainly won't put my money on it.

definitely. from what i read it seems like they only know how to complain online rather than do any real campaigning against it.

this guy, although he did it in an extremist way and shocked the world, actually did SOMETHING:

Anders Behring Brevik, Norway mass murderer, declared insane - New York Daily News

we don't have to be extreme, but from Singaporeans' attitude.. you say something, but don't have the attitude, efficiency or productivity to carry it out
