$ to charge for product shots

A friend's friend wants me to take some product shots, wondering how much is a reasonable amt to charge. Its gonna be 30min, once a week but I need to travel abt 30min by train there and 30min back. As I'm not a pro I cannot charge too much. It will be for abt 3 mths. After this all the photos will be compiled and printed into a book. Any advise? Thanks.

That depends entirely on how good your product shots are really. But since its your first attempt, you might consider a smaller fee -- charge them on the whole project fee over the 3 months.
