it is not a moth but a Hesperiidae spp. belonging to the butterfly family.

Hmmm, was the skipper (the general name for this family of butterflies) still alive when these were taken. Seems to have lost some legs.
There are many very similar species of skippers with this type of coloration and pattern, and so it's very difficult to id them most of the time. Last edited by macross; 2nd January 2005 at 08:27 PM. |
