Sharp lens but rather slow focussing......shot lots of potraits with this, one example is at:

this is a friend's wedding shot; took with a SB600 fill in, bounced of home made card....

Nice len for the price & range, if one cannot afford the VR/AF-S version, this is definitely my next choice in terms of quality.

The hood can be bought at a lot of shops. Suprisingly easier to find than the AF-S/VR versions.

The AF-D 80-200mm f/2.8 is still an in-production model. New is about S$1.6k, used/2nd-hand is about S$1k-$1.2k, depending on condition.

Thanks, know anywhere specifically I can get a new set from?

BTW, does the front part of the lens extend out further when zooming in?

CP and MS color should have.

This lens is IF. So the answer is 'NO'.

If you don't mind brand new grey set, you can go to AP to buy at $1,300++.

There's a lot of place in Singapore that has stocks of the lense. Eg. CP, AP, MS, L, J:3:16, etc.

And the front barrel of the lense does not extend when zooming nor focusing.

If you noticed, the lens is not designated with IF. Watch the front element move when focused. However it is within the housing of the lens thus the over size does not extend.

Yes I'm interested in the cheaper non-IF version.
