Default Buying things from US sites..

Hi,

Has anyone tried buying stuff from the US before?

For example at B&H photo a 20D costs $1499USD.. which works out to S$2550!

Also if you buy from US I heard you can buy extended "Mack Warranty" for 5 years... only down side is servicing must send there to do.. but its 5 years warranty! Definitely a plus, and the purchase price also cheaper too!

What you think? Is it workable?

Local price $2650...

B&H:
Shipping + 20D = $1499 + $50? = $1549 USD = $2650+ without warranty.

GST = 5%

2650 x 1.05 = 2782.5

Shipping back & fro (assuming still got error) = multiples of USD$50.

Local set
$2650

Sending to service centre - Taxi $10?

Collecting - $10.

If you are afraid of being rip off over the net... then you buy it from Singapore.
Do you think the savings (if there is one to start with) justify the intense of waiting for the goods to arrive?

Further more... you never know when you gonna need the warranty when it comes to body!
