Default Flash: Ratio

Well, I did a search in this forum and on the net as well, but got no info about it or little and I catch no ball.

What exactly is flash ratio and what use does it has? On the 5600, I can choose 2:1 & 2:1 (bold represents the black square). Read the manual that for wireless, its recommended to choose 2:1. I tried today and seems like no ratio gives me good exposure in wireless. Am I doing things right?

Gurus, I need your advice.

Thanks,
Don.

Think the 7D doesn't supports ratio flash
I haven't gotten it to work too... But well, if you have time to set up 2 flash, you are likely to have time to do manual flash right? But for me, sadly i don't have a flash meter... maybe someone with a flash meter could actually check if the 7D supports ratio flash while at it..

Oh, sad that 7D doesn't allow ratio but still don't know what the hell is that though.

Thanks TME for the link, I'll go read up soon.

Flare, yes I have to use manual for the flash to get the exposure I want. Was doing indoor shoot today and most of the time I set the wireless flash at 1/8 and 1/16 with a bounce card @ about 2 metres away from subject.

Don't need flash meter. Just shoot and chimp to get what you have in mind.

OT:
Don, the performance ended I turned around and you are not around.

Cheers!

Sorry man, had curry for dinner and needed the toilet badly for emergency. Left just when the performance ended, before the crowded fight the cubicle from me.
