Default Tried my hands on some PS features.

I took the background with off focused for blur effect. The watch was taken separately with a white background. I cut the watch out, faded the edge a little and added on to the blur image(background). Then I applied Filters-Render-Lights effect to emphasize the spot light on the watch more. Not so sharp pic though. What do you think of my first attempt?

TY for your kind comments! because I cut the watch out using a mouse and it was not easy. Cos it only allow straight lines or you must hold down your left click and follow the contour. I was lazy to do that, very tedious work. And one little mistake, you have to start all over again. What I did was expanding the pic to 300% and cut it out with point to point straight lines. At that magnification, you can't really tell which is the actual contour by the pixels. And later just fade the edge a little.

Oh BTW, it is the same watch but not from that pic. To do a cut out, it is better to used white back ground first. I used white paper.

I agree, Roger. I almost gave up PS, cos it got to do with layers and layers. Not so user friendly really. Anyway got the PS only about a week or so ago. I was using Photosuite and still using. Combining both actually.

I clicked the Help button and read some topics and did this pic.

I don't have flat screen. My monitor is still CRT. The watch is $76 from ebay. Just logon to ebay and type BMW watch. It is not the real thing actually.
