Lightbulb Is S5500 up to your expectation?

Has anyone bought a s5500 cam? I am very interested in getting one.
Mostly interested in the tele and wide aperture. Website reviews were good
Any owners can give some advise or opinion on this cam?
And by the way, where to get the lowest price in singapore?
What is the second hand price for this cam?

Hi johnlim,

At the price, the s5500 is a good camera.
I always avoid the idea of 2nd hand (you don't realy know it's history).

It will take an IR filter so why not get one and join the IR forum

If I'm not wrong the S5500 lacks the Super CCD.Does it still have that 6MP interpolation function as compared to the S5000?

I still rate the 5000 over the 5500.Better zoom and Super CCD.4mp does not make much diff IMHO.10x zoom is rare for a prosumer too..

Hi can anyone advise on the no. of pics that can be stored in a 128MB XD card for the S5500 at high res? I'm interested in the S5500 but the cost of XD is the sole reason why its not as attractive, wonder if a single 128mb card is enuff for normal shoots?

im a thread digger huh ?? lolz... anyway, just got the S5500 as a birthday present exact 24 hours ago .. nice camera actually. Was wanting to buy the Olympus E300 at $1600 from Alan photo funan but chose to buy the s5500 because firstly, size. secondly its gonna be shared with my sister so i dont think she would like the idea of using DSLR cams(changing lens here and there :X) so i kinda wasted my chance.

but its a good buy IMHO. i bought from South Asia computer at price of $679 with 256mb XD + 16mb XD(default) free bag, tripod, camera and camera bag.
