Hey CY, what & how did you do exactly did? You idea is really great! But there is "glow"(artifact) around the 2 guys. Did you cut them out or single them out before you edit the backdrop?

Used the magic wand to select background, and blurred it, while sharpen the pp there. Once you do that, there will be a 'glow' as you said it. Not sure how to avoid that though.....

Why don't you cut the guys out, then you decolorised with B&W filter or Sepia or whatever you want the background to be, and then add the cutout to it? Stretch the cutout a little bigger to cover the guys' original position. Cos if you cut them out, you can actually soften the edges and at the same time by pasting/add them again onto the B&W or monotone background. It is a little more stps though JMO.

Maybe someone has a better idea to share?
