Hi,
Can D70 users help to recommend a good tripod for the camera? Preferably one that is stable and good for taking to events. Advise on features to get for a tripod would be appreciated as well! Please state the model, price and shop to get it. Thanks. |

I just bought a Manfrotto 190 ProB, as it's not too heavy but stable enough for my usage. Also like the horizontal mounting option of the centre column.
Bought the 322RC2 gun grip ball head as well. Very fast and rock solid. |

The free gift tripod I believe can support the D70 + Kit, but I don't think it will survive with speedlight or the 70-200VR |

Just to ask, how much is the 322RC2? Is it easier to operate compared to conventional ballheads?
![]() EDIT: Can anyone clarify this from the Manfrotto site?

Depends... If u use the 322RC2 like a 222, then the max load capacity is about 3-4... i've loaded my D70+bigma+sb800... no problem...
But if u use the 322RC2 vertically by turning, the load is only indeed 2.5... ![]()

Selecting a suitable tripod largely depends on budget, equipment and your height. For starters, look here - www.manfrotto.com |

maybe can get the Giottos MT9160 + Giottos MH1000 ballhead.MT9160 carbon fiber = 2.5kg MT9160 alumimium = 2.8kg MH1000 = 600++g For me, CF or no CF different only 0.3kg, not worth it. MT9160 can also do horizontal mounting using the centre column, and can open the leg all the way to the ground. (look like a GPMG stand to me. )max load capacity is around 10kg. cost only around S$350++ for both MT9160 alum + MH1000. Me using one... Giottos

Can anyone provide me with a rough estimate for these items? I am currently overseas and just want to make a price comparison.
1) Manfrotto 190D http://db.manfrotto.com/product/temp...=86&itemid=770 2) Manfrotto 115 Super 3D head http://db.manfrotto.com/product/temp...d=7&itemid=272 |

Shodan99, definitely worth buying it in SG. I have got a colleague who came over to SG and bought about $8000 worth of camera and lenses.

Anyone ever use the Manfrotto 719B or 724B on D70 with Kit Lens?

i have that one... the 719B... u can't change the ballhead though. it supports my full kit - 200-400mm/d70/sb800 and it still holds very firm. bought frm ms at $150.
