Thread: Philosophising in decision making

    Default Philosophising in decision making

Philosophising, "to be or not to be"" that is the question from Hamlet, Shakespeare.
Used it as a tool, it helps to arrive at a valid conclusion. Before this can be carried out
conclusively, it is necessary to gather relevant information, as much as possible, from
various sources. Without much infor., it is not possible to make a correct decision.
I think the prevailing situation, circumstances or conditions helps to decide whether
to take it or leave it.
A scenario whether to go for surgical operation or not depends on the fitness level
of the patient and the medical condition of the illness of the patient.
Another scenario, if having made a profit of 100K, whether to invest in stock or
property market or go for a long holiday abroad and spend on lavishly.

this is too deep for everyone to actually comprehend.

and you're quoting this in relation to what event, or perhaps just to have a debate on ethics and thought process?

If no head or no tail then this is probably about this event:

Sometimes the decision is made for you and you do not have a choice. Although it appears that you made the decision.
    That is life.

There is nothing philosophical about making decisions based on pros n cons and how do you use Shakespeare's 'to be or not to be' as a decision tool?

'Decide or not decide', that is indeed the question and to follow through with the deciding philosophy is to decide whether to decide or not decide.....

    WTF-2=WTD......

Alright, The question is should a patient go for surgery for a cervical nerve compression and
the patient is suffering from pain. He is required to make his own decision. He is 60 years old
with mild diabetes type 2 and high blood for which he is under medication.

Yes but only if the surgery will cure the illness and not make it worse. Doctors should not ask patient to choose. Doctors must advise optimal choice. The patient decides when he consents to sign the form for the operation. If don't settle the nerve compression, he may live for another few decades in constant pain. What about non-surgical approach to the cure?

Better not ask serious medical/surgery questions that concern life and death in a photography forum. Because we are not medical experts. Because you get all kinds of replies on the Internet, some of which are completely false/misleading and just plain irresponsible.
