Default Last few pic for the year

Took these yesterday...despite the rain, when it stopped, the little creatures all came out.

Appreciate any critique/nit-pick. Thanks!

The pics are very nice! As for PSed, well every 98% of the digi pics went thru editing via software. If anyone can get these pics with PS and with his camera, that is really great for him! Conclusion, can you or us get those pics with our camera and with PS?

Sure they are nice pics.

I asked those questions just for my own confirmation seek, as well as for my learning, not critic at all.

Hi JimDavis, don't get me wrong too.

Seriously, up till now, I mean with my capability and std, I can't produce pics like tchuanye. Even with Ps, I couldn't do it cos my pics in the first place are not as sharp, and they are grainy most of the time. I am a novice and still getting my best setting.

Macro pics and low lighting pics tend to have a lot of grains. I am trying to overcome that with various setting. And of course, I am waiting for my Nikon 3T & 4T (ordered and they are on their way ) for macro pics. Cos the close up lenses I've right now are single element and can't produce at sharp and clear like tchuanye pics. He used the 6T and Sigma lens. So I tried to copy his setting and equipments. I just hope to get somewhere near his std. He is really good at these shots!

Hahahaha...no worries mate!

I think I ever called him the master of the macro among the Lumixers here...yes, we have lots to learn from him on the macro shots.

Personally, I do not think I am going macro....maybe I will go for photojounalism and candid shots....not too sure yet...but I like to take scenic photos than insects and birddies...

Maybe should buy some from the aquarium or shops that sells birdies?

Just joking.

Maybe you would want to try the buttlefly farm or something like that near the Zoo area?

Thanks all you guys for the encouraging comments. Sorry for the late reply, as I just came back from the chalet....more pics to come.

Just to answer George's question, yes, I PS all my shots. For this 2, what I did was:
Levels, than curves, and a slight contrast increase. Sharpen, and NEATIMAGE to remove noise.
Even though I used ISO 50, there was still noise, and I think (pls correct me if I am wrong) that is made more obvious when I adjust the levels up??? Anyway, seem to be that way.

Glad you guys like it. Suprisingly, there were many bugs at the chalet....will post them soon. rgds

Default Question regarding marco.

Hi guys. Sorry yet again for a FZ20 question. I do did a search. Anyway Can anyone kindly explain what is a closeup filter? Is it the same as Nikon 6T which tchuanye using? It seem that tchuanye's photo are very closed and detail. What is his distance? if i not wrong? he standing very far away from the insect but he using the 2 lens stack together, so he has a good photo view?

So how much is that sigma and 6T cost? thanks alot

A close up filter is a filter that you attached to the front of the lens, in a similar way to other type of filters, UV etc....you screw them on. So you need to know the thread type. It is like a magnifying glass and it magnifies the image. It also increases your working distance, distance from lens to subject. 6T is 29cm, Sigma is 40cm, and both, 19cm

FZ is 72mm. So you probably need a 3rd party adapter like the phayee which is 62mm thread. 6T is 62mm. Sigma is 58mm. So I have a 62-58mm step down ring.

U mention before that 12X WD without anything is 2m, so the close-up filter actually "shorten" the distance?

thanks.
