You could turn on Digital DDE as well.
Note however that if you were to push the exp comp and Digital DDE all the way, your photos are going to be very badly affected by digital noise, in other words, they'll become very grainy. If you're trying to recover shadows, first try checking how much of the shadows in your photo is lost by pressing 'S' or clicking Image > Show Lost Shadows. |

Even if you denoised it, the quality of the image will not be that ideal. Anyway, what you could do is push the exposure to the max, follow by adjusting the image's curve. My 2 cents of input. ![]() |

Thks. Its nothing important, but seeing how ACR can compensate more, I was wondering if NC could do the same. My tolerance of noise leans towards the greater side, but I'm not trying to rescue anything, just asking.

Personal experience is if your picture is under-exposed, you still can increase EV up to 1.5 and still all right. However if your images is over-exposed, hopefully it is not more than 0.5 EV. Else reduction EV up to 1 stop is not going to serve your image right. Try or test it !!
