the earth of Milano is piazza del Duomo. See the very impressive church. You make photos from inside as well if they let tourists in (they don't in some times of the day). You can take photos from inside, I'm not sure if they let use the flash though. You may go up to the roof of the duomo and see the Madonnina (little statue of the holy mother, which dominates Milano), and take panoramic photos from there.

Outside the Duomo, facing the church, on your left is the Galleria, a walk with most expensive shops and bars, covered by a glass structure. Very nice architecture, you walk through it, look at the glass which covers the Galleria. In the middle, look at the pavement, on one side is a bull. Tradition wants that you walk on one part of the bull's body for good luck.

At the other end you reach another square, where the Teatro alla Scala is. Not much to see from outside apart for the facade. The theater has reopened after long time for reconstruction, you might be able to go inside to its museum and see the theatre. And maybe attend a concert?

From piazza del duomo again, the street on its left (the side of the galleria) is also famous for its shops, lots of people will walk around in the afternoons and weekends. Some street photography of the most fashionable people in the fashion town.

The Stazione Centrale, one of the three railway stations, is really beautiful. You walk outside and see the massive facade. Then go inside and look at this interesting fascist-style building. You may want to go to the trains, but as I remember you can access that area only if you have a ticket. If it is so, and if you really want to go inside, you may get a ticket to some very close town for 3-4 dollars. You get to the station by underground train. There are stops in the Duomo and also in the Stazione Centrale. Be careful inside the railway station, there are pickpockets, and at night it is not a safe place especially in the dark streets outside, with drug addicts.

Another famous place is the Castello Sforzesco, the castle. It's about 1km from the Duomo. You either walk or take the underground train, but I don't recall which station is it, you need to ask. For some photos of the caste you want to go inside.

For old-days Milano mood, go to the Navigli. They are two artificial water canals. One is actually covered now, so you see the other one, where there are plenty of charming bars and restaurants. In the evenings, weekends, a place to hang out.

Similar atmosphere is in Brera, an area with narrow streets of bars and restaurants. In the evenings, crowded with people selling things in the street and fortune tellers.

There are lots of churches, I suggest Sant'Ambrogio, who is the patron of the town.

If you have time, a trip to the lakes is worth. Lago di Como, or Lago Maggiore are about 1 hour drive from Milano. Something you don't see in Singapore.

So are you from Italy? Milan was indeed very cold. It was ~-3 when I was there, did not venture far as I have limited time....Thanks for your advice too.
