It's here already. RP : SGD3650.

Tried it on Friday, picture quality is very promising with it's wide mode dynamic range. However, when you shoot in RAW mode, the speed becomes an amazing 4 FPM (frames per minute) writing for RAW is 14 seconds. 25MB per file. Tiff conversion becomes 75MB. Anyone got terabyte server to spare?

Er... played with it last week but there are no 2nd set of dials on the grip. Very wierd. The contours feels great in my hands, both ways. It's smaller than a 10D plus grip, much lighter also. But very slow, very small buffer. Priced a tad too high.

It's got nice colour and sharpness. Find it odd without the second aperture/shutter wheel. It's uncomfortable to press the button the button to switch between aperture and shutter values as the buttons are pretty close together due to the small size of the camera.

The vertical grip is uncomfortable, as the base of the camera is a little too thick. Heard from some shops that it isn't selling very well, probably because of the high price.

Think it's time for Fujifilm to dump their exclusiveness market ploy. Especially on the xD card thingy. It's too expensive for common sense.

Have seen it in the shops, but don't think it's selling well (probably because of the high price).

I have the S2pro, am pretty happy with it and don't have the spare cash to make the upgrade. Furthermore, the A-B comparisons between S3 and S2 -- in my view -- show only a marginal difference.

Actually, I think the market segment for the S3 could be limited -- it isn't fast or robust enuf for the pros, and it isn't cheap or compact enough for the amateurs.

Cheers!

Had mine 3 weeks now , knocked the socks off of the S2 , it's the fifth DSLR i've owned and the best , not fast it's more for portrait/landscape than action , agree about the vertical grip thats useless .
I'm on the list for the D2X that'll be for action , but the colours and exposure on the S3 are superb .

in your opinion, how does the S3's image quality compare with the Canon 20D?

Yap I also got my three days ago so far only good thing about it. Beautiful images. The autofocus is better then s2pro. Image quality is a knock out. I dare to say better than a lot of cameras in it's price bracket.
