    How old is old?

Some old photographs from a Sony H2.

Seems like yesterday when I picked it up and fooled around with it in 2007. Now the tree in the picture below is gone...

Taken in 1999 with a 2MP Kodak DC280 camera. This photo was only reduced a little from the original size of 896x592 px!!

Shot with a 2MP Nokia phone camera... The Nokia Navigator 6110

    Shot in 2005 with a Olympus C8080

I love this thread. Always goes to show that a good eye for composition and lighting/timing will always trump having the latest and most expensive.

    BUT.......

I have to ask.......how much post processing did you guys do?

I'm impressed if your photos are straight out of the camera. Much less so if you spent hours PPing them.

For mine, I think I did contrast and sharpening. That's about it.

That seems like such a long time ago... Didn't even have Photoshop. Just blessed with good light, I guess.

For me, I sometimes play with curves but I don't sharpen - I find that flickr does enough of that on its own and I link photos from there. Colours are usually straight from camera, I do play (extensively) with the colour settings in-camera though. I think it's more about chasing the light and finding it, and then having something to capture the moment when it happens.

You upload the original file and choose their smaller sizes to link?

It's best to resize to the web posting size and link the original file.. Then you know what level of sharpness you are getting and have a greater degree of control over what your viewers will see. Cheers.

    Interesting thread!

I am too "young" to post anything though...
