The LiveStrong band is a project to raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which is a non-profit cancer foundation. More information can be found on the LiveStrong website as well.

This is clearly NOT a fashion accessory, despite celebrities wearing them. Do advise friends who are keen to get them, NOT to wear them for all the wrong reasons.

Hmm.. I think u have a pt, to a certain degree.

But im inclined to think that any publicity is good publicity. Personally I wear a livestrong band and despite not having as clear a picture about its purpose as when i saw the website, I think I have been able to raise people's awareness about what Lance Armstrong is doing.

Point is, I think whether the wearers are clear about why the band is being worn is not the point. People who see the band inevitably will start asking questions about what it is, and HOPEFULLY ( idealistic, but I'm naive so shoot me) they'll ask questions and look for the answers.
