Default My Niece's Wedding

Was not the photographer for my niece's wedding. But couldn't resist, so stole a shot or two at the appropriate moment.

This was at Sentosa Beaufort Hotel

Thanks Ron and Kelvin for your comments, I agree it is technically a bit under, will work on it. The colored one is also my fav.

Thanks AgnesKjaer and chgoh for your comments too.

AgnesKjaer, to answer your query, I am using digital, not film. I am happy with this shot as it was captured to what I visualized before releasing the shutter. It was taken against the setting sun behind the pastor and the couple, at about 6.30pm. I metered the background and use the flash to light up the subject. The color has been saturated and I also "burn" (as in dodge & burn) the sides, to create the mood and make it stronger else it looks flat. Would have been perfect if the hands were not block by the mic stand. My .05 cents tip is, try to work out what you want or intend to capture and the theme in the event, look out for moments and visualize the shots before shooting. I think it is not easy but alot of experts here (iamasiant here is one whom I draw my ideas and inspiration) have shown that it is possible.

Cheers and Happy New Year

The B/W one, just sepia it and play with Curves (CTRL-M in PS). Should look much better. Else the tone is pretty flat (esp the skin).

should add soft and vignetting effect ... lighten the color contrast should enchance the shot

my 2 cents worth

very nice effect... i like it that it's a little under - gives more 'mood and feel' to the whole thing!
