Default Please Help (especially those with calibrated monitors)

I just tried calibrating my monitor by following the wizard in Adobe Gamma. Now my screen is so bright!! In fact, I'm already a little 'sakit mata'. Now the problem is this. I went back to my dad's photo folders, and discovered that some of the recent unadjusted (hence a little 'underexposed' I thought) D70 pics now look spot on. Unfortunately, some photos (which looked OK previously) taken with the Nikon Coolpix 3100 and Olympus C750 now look overexposed. Can you help me confirm this please?

Nikon Coolpix 3100 (looks slightly overexposed to me now)

Olympus C750 (looks .5 to 1 stop on the overcooked side)

Nikon D70 (bang spot on, though before 'calibration' it looked about .5 to 1 stop to dark)

    Any comments? Thanks

The pics look just fine on my "eye calibrated" (i.e. adobe gamma) screen.

thks guys. readjusted gamma based on your comments (ya i know, not very accurate, but better than nothing). anyway, these are all straight out of camera jpegs, D70 had Optima curve loaded. and yea, the background in the first is a total goner anyway, disregard it, just concentrate on the face. again, thks.

    spyder caliberated monitor...

first one, disregard blown highlights, looks ok. the other too just a little dark.

aiyah i think the adobe gamma cannot really trust one (or rather own eyes cannot trust hehe) . i used it and got really frustrated.
