Default Should i send my D7D for sevice & where?

i think i got some problem with the D7D...

1st the problem with the memory sudden wipe out which occurred twice, but did not appear recently...

den i notice that my mem card have a bad write once in a while, the jpe/raw/thm will not write properly into the 2gb 80x lexar. occur a few times, and the write led on the D7D shows red even when shut down, and sometimes refuse to shut down after i turn the switch to off, and only manage to off when i pull out the batteries and the CF is quite hot after a few shots... even the body is warm...

is this 'problem' normal? does KM sg replace a new 1 or they will send it for repair? how long? cos i got a schedule of shoots...

If your memory wipe problem is the one you have previously posted regarding the date and time one. This is what I've found:
http://forums.clubsnap.org/showpost....0&postcount=13

If your buffer is still not cleared, it will continue to write into the CF after you off the camera and will lock up till it's done.

Regarding the write error, I think it's better that you send it in for checkup.

Cheers!

Just sent in mine due to the inconsistency of my AS function today...

1st, they will try to repair it... they have a very high confidence technical staff (looks very experienced also whom I talked to), if beyond the repair limit, guess they will replace a new set for you, but you gotta confirm with them as it goes case by case.

How long: they will tell you 3 weeks if u send in these few days due to holidays season.
But, you may discuss and inform them on your schedule... they have a technical assigned to attend to 7D problems now, guess, this is their 1st priority in the list.

As for the warranty card, actually don't need as they know this item was launched few weeks ago. A nice desk service gentleman, understandably, told me that as I did not have my warranty card with me just now. But, technically, bring it with you to avoid further delay on the schedule (which I don't think they will maek you go thru the situation).

Good Luck!!!

Don't be so rude, young man..

I would consider "inconsistency of my AS function" as failure of consistent performance of anti-shake, not because of switch mode here and there.

switch mode here and there... may be it is linked to the "failure of consistent performance of anti-shake" ler?

3 weeks? Maybe Yes, Maybe No.

Yes for the D7D but it is about 14 working days. Think they might fix it asap as it will be under warrently and no charges.

No for other model if they need to charge you. By the time they make a confirmation call on whether you want to fix it or not, it is ard 3 wks and by the time they finished, it might take u a total of a month time before you see your camera.

Anyway, hope you could get back your camera before cny. If not, you got to wait after that.

You ask KM to open one repair shop with 100 workers. Very fast then, haha!

If I am not wrong, at funan KM, less than 10 technicians.
