If you stereotype talents in what you think/feel they can only look good at, then you're just limiting your imagination and what you and them can achieve.

While I don't have the experience/knowledge to know whether Cassey, the Organiser & photographers can or can not pull off the concept, I do recognise that the moment we all stop trying to be different, we are going to lose the magic. A concept is borne from imagination, when you just want to stick to the tried and tested, then you're just rehashing what everyone else has done before you. You don't want to dream, to try new experiences, to push out of your comfort zone.

This photoshoot is not even say a particularly ambitious nor a wildly unbelievable concept; in your words it's a 18yo in a bridal gown. And you already want to restrict thinking. Where's the sense of adventure and wonder. What drew me to photography, it's the chance to create and capture my imagination. I wish organised photoshoots are a lot more creative, crazy and engaging, then even I would be tempted to join in.

And I think a lot of people actually know what they are paying their monies for so attempting to point out what they are getting from this shoot is a little rude. I'm sure we can all think for ourselves.

Apologies to Mambostevie for the OT.

i am with sinned 79 on this matter, but seem there an fanclub here flaming a war. i think its just an casual remark by sinned79. no need to be personal. coz the mentality for any theme is model, location, background. light (from online web famous US photograper, forgot the link) there might be model who are more suitable for the theme. but its the photograper who work the magic. i think sXXXX79 just want to highlight we have to think of an good photography postion.

like a model in an bride grown holding an red rose. (fit the theme of cute) or an lifesize hello kitty as an groom maybe.(cute in bride theme.) or an hello kitty ring on her hand (i have one somewhere)

ok i dig an hole to hide now. dont flame me.

simple. i seen cassie's photos. she haven made any break through. she just her usual showing v sign, box own face etc typical cutie pie style.

put her on wedding gown? O.O a bit hard. and i can already imagine how the photos will turn out.

wedding fashion shoot is actually very specialised. not any models can pulled it off. you need the grace, the right expression, the pose. i am sorry but i dun see these qualities in cassie.

but since its a fun shoot. i guess u will just see photos without much substance. another typical cutie pie wearing a wedding gown trying to pretend something.

well we shall see how those photos turn out and see if i am right afterall.

    just to add.

wedding gown unlike any costume or clothing...

if the model feels uneasy wearing it. haven start already fail cos she will look uneasy wearing it through out the shoot.

just like bikini shoot. not any models will want to do that showing so much cleavage. she just feel uneasy through the shoot.

nice assist on ....79 by ....79

    人个有致,何必执着于个人意见

"Anyway the right person for the right theme equals to right photo. Even a lousy photographer will also produce good photos."

which makes any ah gong ah ma on the street a lousy photographer yet they produce wonderful photos, so you can jolly well forget about you doing freelancing as they can easily do it if they prefer to be called a photographer(a lousy one though)

"And I am a serious photographer here. I don't do for hobby sake (spending thousands of dollars on equipments just to shoot XMM)."

do you mean they are NOT serious in pursuing their hobby?

to sinned79 by the way, excuse my ignorance, i went thru this threads of 'debating', i only saw wedding "FASHION" coming out from you and not others, are this suppose to be a wedding THEME shoot or FASHION shoot in the first place?

as mentioned above, its a one-sided thinking that Cassey is NOT suitable for this theme, did it ever comes to you that others may have different thinking?
or a 18 years old female is NOT suitable to get married and put on the gown?

thats all for now, HAPPY SHOOTING EVERY PARTICIPANTS !

Can't believe you still flaming cassey since 2 years ago, or was it 1.5 yrs in your bashing thread which was so long ago I can't rmb.

I've never shot cassey before but I see absolutely no reason for you to flame any model/moller/photo-shoot girl on CS organised shoots listing.

If there is a reason or bad experience to it, you should share with us. If not I think you are ridiculous, honestly.

Even the most prettiest of the models can be destroyed by bad photographers, the challenge is there to prefect which of our shots right? Cassey is photogenic , i believe she can have her wonderful views in wedding dress too. It's up to the photographers to teach her and bring out her best herself during the shoot. this is different from the freelance pre wedding photography i saying. If ah gong and ah ma can do pre wedding shoot (which i doubt so, at least energy and stamina level not on par with me), then yes i will forget about shooting freelance. I already say right person right theme. Referring to fashion shoot. Dun find u even newbie photographers joining Modelin's shoot produces very good photo? First of all their models is top notch (hence the price), the lighting setup by the organiser good. So as long as u catch good angles, even a newbie can produce pro photos. Dun believe, i can simply take a example from one of the newbie photographer here who join other organiser shoot and Modelin shoot. Total difference. This is what I observe.

"And I am a serious photographer here. I don't do for hobby sake (spending thousands of dollars on equipments just to shoot XMM)."
do you mean they are NOT serious in pursuing their hobby?
I never say they are not serious. If they are not serious, they wun spent as much money as me upgrading their equipments. But just diff mindset. For me I am serious to shoot more and earn more from my shoot. They are serious about their hobby shooting XMM (mostly I will say). That's the difference of serious.

to sinned79 by the way, excuse my ignorance, i went thru this threads of 'debating', i only saw wedding "FASHION" coming out from you and not others, are this suppose to be a wedding THEME shoot or FASHION shoot in the first place?
Sorry I cannot answer you this, the organiser decides it not me. But since I see him mention fun shoot. So its not a serious, hence definitely not a wedding shoot but wedding fashion by my own definition.

as mentioned above, its a one-sided thinking that Cassey is NOT suitable for this theme, did it ever comes to you that others may have different thinking?
or a 18 years old female is NOT suitable to get married and put on the gown?

I already say its my own feedback. Not one had to agree with me and neither I am forcing any one to agree with me. But looks like they feel offended by my feedbacks and personal views? Dun you think so?

And I never said that 18 year old not suitable. But since 2 years ago, she got this baby face look, till now it hasn't changed. If its a serious wedding shoot. I personally think she cannot pull off the shoot. Imagine in wedding gown , boxing her own face, doing a meow look, showing the V sign? *piaks forehead*. Fun shoot, wedding fashion, maybe still can. But again I dunno the directions the organiser want to go thru. I am just telling those who is seriously looking to shoot serious wedding portfolio, choose a suitable model. Else when he show his client... I think they will shake head too thinking, all you know how to shoot is XMM. Can I trust you to the job? Personally I know got such ppl including myself, always on the lookout for suitable wedding shoots to add to his own portfolio. For me I would love to shoot Agnes Lim if she come back to Singapore again with a wedding theme. Always miss out her organised shoot.

Cos 2 years ago i commented shes got baby face and only know cutie pie poses. 2 years later nothing had changed.
I already say I am not flaming, just providing my personal views that I find that the model isn't suitable for this theme. But its others who can't stand my feedback came in to defend. If you read my initial post on this thread, I am not even starting a flame war. But its those who can't see my views eye to eye the one starting the flame war.

I never shoot Cassie before and I never will, to me shes not cut out to be a model. She only knows that few poses. But well its just my personal views again.

I know you can already see it, because you have no imagination. Why does fashion wedding have to be specialised? Why must need grace, the right expression & pose? Why must restrict ourselves to this strict criteria? Why does everything have to happen as you have foreseen it? Why cannot think outside the box? You obviously have a fixed mindset of how wedding fashion must be shot, but why must you impose such rules onto other people? In art, it is both the normal and abnormal pieces of work which delight and shock us. There is no right or wrong. If you are convinced something is wrong, it may be that your mind is simply closed off. We can dislike, but are we at any authority to declare what is wrong? It is simply his/hers, yours and my personal opinion of what we think/feel photography should be. I may critic a person's work, but I would never tell someone, "this will never work". Because I believe in making magic, it might not be tomorrow or next year. But if you don't give up and continue to dream, one day it may happen. You want to be pessimistic, be that way to yourself. There is no need to spread that love around.

Nobody needs to prove anything to you. Although everyone would like to think that we do all these things to improve, but the fact is, it's none of each other's business what results we get. Whether for enjoyment or portfolio or practise, whatsoever. I personally would love it if someone does come out with something special just to thumb their nose at you, but that's just for laughs and inconsequential. People only need to shoot for themselves, not to show other people up or to belittle each other.

Since I can tell you don't like to give people chances to change, I also won't bother to give chance for you to improve. So do you like the fact that people will look at your portfolio and decide straight away this is all you're amounting to be? That would suck right? Instead of bringing down Cassey and Mambostevie, why were your first words not to offer constructive suggestions but instead to throw bricks. I cannot understand if this is you trying to help.

NEITHER i am forcing anyone to agree with me if you read my initial post again carefully. The way you guys "rebutted" / "attacks" sounds more like you are getting me to agree with you not me trying to get you to agree with me.

I don't know you, we are total strangers. I respect your opinions but not the method. If you had wanted to engage in a constructive discussion in the first place, I would not have worded my posts in such a confrontational manner. You were not forcing anyone to agree with you, but you were forcing your views onto others. If you had not been so insistent on them even after Mambostevie has been gracious to not rebutt you (when he had every right to), I would not have felt the need to express myself.

Anyway, glad this is finally over too.

Cheers and good luck to the photoshoot, I pray for good weather amidst this rainy month.

you have been saying this is your personal feedback.. and have nothing against the model or organizer.. do note that this section is an organized photoshoot section. The organizer is also trying to make a living by organizing a model (who is also trying to earn a little income) from a photoshoot in this section. While you are telling people the model does suit this theme. What are you implying to the interesting party or people looking at this thread to do... I can only write that you are telling people not to join this photoshoot.

You indirect cause a lost of income to the model and organizer!! and you are so carefree telling people you have nothing against the model and organizer??

there is a limit to voice your feedback and since CS is a free web-site and no legal matter will be impose to ppl like you.. try voicing your opinion elsewhere see will your carefree opinion land you in any hot water or not...

grow-up my little junior. Think before you talk or post and remember you will be held responsible for anything you say in a real world.
