Default What compact camera is good for concerts?

    Hi!

Anyone knows what kind of camera is good to bring for concerts? compact cameras are easier to bring into the venue...
My budget is around $150-$200, looking for secondhand ones coz i have a DSLR at home...
    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

What kind of concert is this? Will it have low dim lights?

If it has low dim lights, it's going to be hard to get good pics.

And your budget is very limited..... U can only get the low end models which are only a few.

I ever helped a friend who has the same budget as u. Realized there are only 3-4 models to choose from. In the end, went for canon.

Don't expect much from the pic quality hor

Not with that budget. If you want even halfway decent pics, you need a G1X or a NEX.

Otherwise, save your money, shoot with your cellphone.

This may not be the best solution. With a <$200 pns, you may still be able to capture some decent images when the ambient condition is right and if you can bring in a small tripod. Your view and zoom of camera will limit what you can shoot as you probably won't be a able to move around and remain in your seat but should at least let you bring home some nice memory of the concert.

Btw, remember to turn off the flash (the flash will never reach your intended) unless you are taking photo of your friend with concert as background. look for a pns with a "concert" mode.

    IPhone 4S for me.

The truth is, most point and shoot cameras cannot handle:

    - the dim conditions
    - the moving action (autofocus difficult or slow to lock on)
    - inability to get close to the action (limited zoom and/or max aperture)

Once you go NEX you'll never look back.

That being said, it's out of TS' budget. However, it does perform better than other cameras of the same size.

You want cheap, be prepared to be frustrated. These days, people are blindsided by price, and marketing. Good things don't really come cheap, and cheap things are usually followed by cursing and swearing.

Yeah. I'm pretty impressed by the Sony NEX system too.
