    Default singnet ADSL disconnected frequently

    Cannot tahat anymore.
    Is starhub cable stable?

    what do you mean 'tahat'? as in 'tahan' meaning bearable? both of them has their 'period' sometimes.

    maybe you should try the fibre optic broadband

    Maybe due to installation of fibre cable ard your area affected ur connection. Cause ADSL is on telephone line, old tech liao. Cable also going down as fibre is what we want n getting now. The plan also acceptable as compare to cable and u also enjoy faster speed. Do research on it, then decide which to go for.
    Only Sony device mostly, haha!

    Yes, I am also experiencing the same problem for weeks. I waited for my fibre for more than 6 months! Finally appointment is for end of this month.

    Hopefully no more excuses.

    Anyone know the pri and sec DNS setting ?
    My problem is not speed, but no Internet traffic although the router status say it is connected.

    No such thing. Using ADSL. Stable all the time.
    Maybe check your PC config and setup.

    Are you staying in a old building? Coz ADSL relies on phone cabling. And if the copper cabling is old then will have issue.

    Do you have other devices connected to the same telephone socket? Like a fax machine? If so, check your micro-filter.

    If no other devices is connected except your modem or gateway, then it could be the setting of some of the parameters, or the modem/gateway (the connecting part) might be having some problems.

    Also, sometimes it could be the connection box outside your house, the cables might be loose, cables might be corroding, etc.

    If you are on Singnet, you can get the technician to test your line for noise/interference.

    There is quite a few causes on the disconnection problem, the best is to call up the technical helpline and see if they can help u to solve the problem.

    It have been good for the past 3 years with the same setup. Only recently 6 months ago, this thing start to surface.
    PC side no setup needed, using dhcp.
    Luckily, i never sign contract ..

    6 months ago, did the Open Net people go around your building / estate installing their Open Net?

    Mine oso having lot of problems not only disconnection, speed crawl lyke tortoise and sometime just hang. Microfilter dont help much, was ask to change 2x but problem still there. Now just wait contract to end and change.

    I asking Singtel to check. They determined is modem problem. Problem seem to be resolved after changing the modem.
