You have some interesting subject... make me want to go to AH

Composition wise, I feel that most shots are too center, too high... Some shots made me feel you are in a hurry when taking the pictures, like the 3rd one. Caterpillar are good subject... they can't run haha... a head on shot of the caterpillar should be nice. Maybe the expert here will give you better comments...

Good shots nevertheless... hope to see more of your posts

Thanks melvynyeo for ur advise. Will try to improve on the composition and the posture and i always forgot the 3/4 rule.

I'm sort of new to these rules; is the 3/4 rule like the rule of thirds, but using quarters instead?

Here are some "rules" that I use when photographing butterflies:
1. Try to off centre the subject in the composition.
2. Have more space in front of the subject than behind.
3. Have the camera parallel to the wings of the subject.

Those r the rules which i always forgot/some time dun know how to apply when i try to get the subject tac-sharp.

Hi, actually not really rules, but more like guides. Practice and shoot more; after some time, they will become second nature without knowing it. AH is a good place for practices.
