Default My first digi cam - the Olympus C770UZ

Hi everyone,

I am new here. Just bought my first digital camera, the C770 from Sim Lim 2 days ago. I had in mind to buy a cannon (A75/85/95) but walked away with a C770 instead. I must say that I didn't regret a bit. So far I am quite pleased with the pic quality. Still learning the other funtions of the C770 and also CAMEDIA Master 4.2- can be quite tricky indeed.

Camera + free 128xd - $699
Upgrade to 256xd - $80
Extra batt - $40
Tripod - $60
Olympus xD Card Reader/Writer - $40
Adobe Photoshop Elements - Free
2 years Olympus Warranty
(Prices exclude GST)

Not so sure whether I got a good bargin. But I understand that retail price for the C770 is $899 at Harvey/Best Denki etc.

Any other C770 owners out there?

felt that pay $80 for the upgrade from 128 to 256 might be a bit on the expensive side...

anyway, sharp pics you have there....
but the zoom on the bird seems a bit on the blur side...
did you use digital zoom ?

Yup, perhaps its a little expensive, the upgrade..they always give a littlle here and take a little there...But overall I think I am paying the present market rate...no special bargains.

I used the 10x optical zoom..shaky hands likely. ANyway it was an edited picture..removed most of the background.

Thanks for your feedback..appreciate it.

You are very right Bariq. I don't feel bad about paying extra actually. I am quite pleased that now I know where to get my accessories at a fair price. Thank you for looking at the pics and the comments. Appreciate it. Anyway just posted a new album of my new born baby - born on 29 Dec at TMC.

Yes...I don't tink you would regret getting the C770UZ...it has served me well so far and I am very pleased with the pics. However, the lithium batts runs out quit fast. I've got 1 extra batts and tinking of getting another one soon.

yes the C770 has a slot for you to mount external flash, mic..etc. Can also screw in additional lens in front for wide angle..extra zoom..filters etc.

Yes the C770 also has a extended optical zoom that allows you to zoom up to 14x optically at 2 mega pixels!...not to mention that it's the only camera in Olympus range that has MPEG4 movie capability (that can record movies at twice the frame rate speed making smoother movies and also uses up only about half the memory capacity in the media card doing so...double the benefit!).

Cheers

You must have bought it some time ago. Harvey/Best etc is now selling at $799 inclusive GST. But the + point is that you can pay up to 36 mth of installment at 0% interest.

So how is your experience so far?
