Cons - cannot find... unless comparing the AFS VS USM hahaha

6. rtbh
Pro - good range for walkabout, swm and vr. yup! cheapest nikon lens with vr and swm.

10. Got it for 850 new, local warranty, used it extensively on a 2 week trips through M'sia. Makes u lazy to change to other lens.
pro- AF pretty decent speed, sharp at longer range.seamless auto-manual mode, solid feel.
con- WA not wide enough and not cosistent, compromise battery life, VR not as effective as those on 80-400 VR....tried a friend's 80-400, it's VR was so amazing. Positioning of Focus-zoom rings.

Now I'm tempted to get this VR 24-120 mm! It is by far a lot cheaper than my other dream lens:

1) 17-35 mm f2.8
2) 12-24 mm

pro: good range, contrasty pics, VR is a charm even at 120mm, 1/20
con: angle not wide enough. Would have loved for it to be 18-125.

Pro: good walk around lens, good range, VR is useful indoors if bright enough, will be able to handle some 1/30 shots pretty decent, colours is excellent, speed is good as well.
Cons: Its not wide enough, like what Jamestan mentioned, it would be good if it was a 18-125 instead.

Hmm...ok ok, I think I'll be getting this lens soon. Might get another battery though I dont think I'll need it as long as I recharge the battery daily. VR will only be used during low light conditions, not all the time.

If the VR is on when using flash, I find that it slows down a little, not sure does other users find that too . But generally Its a fine piece of glass .....
